Wetroom Waterproofing
Creating a wetroom floor is one of the specialist installations by Prestage Plumbers and Renovators. Water proofing is the key to a successful wetroom and We use a heavy duty self-adhesive membrane, consisting of a thick rubber modified bitumen waterproof layer incorporating a woven glass fibre mesh on one face. This product is the best on the market because it is strong yet flexible, enabling the corners of the area to be completly water proofed, and unlike rigid acrylic systems, will form along the shapes of the floor and walls perfectly, creating a perfect seal and surface to start tiling.
This flexible membrane can be fixed to ply, masonry, concrete or plasterboard surfaces and is compatible with all ceramic adhesives, meaning that wetrooms in upstairs bathrooms are nothing to be feared any more. This water proof system is also compatible with underfloor heating, meaning an added luxury of a warm shower floor is also available to our clients.
We only use stainless steel trapped drains in our wetroom installations, and fully water test the shower area before tiling, and show our clients this procedure so they are 100% sure and confident in the waterproofing we install.
